The BBC already has
the audience.
Heyy-U gives them
a voice back.

Heyy-U is a consent-first community protocol — live across 50+ countries — that connects real communities to the broadcasters and programmes they trust, without surrendering their data to a platform. We are not an app. We are infrastructure. And we were built for a moment like this.

Three problems the BBC
has been trying to solve.

The BBC's mandate is extraordinary: serve every community in Britain and beyond, stay trusted, stay relevant, and do it without compromising public service values. Heyy-U solves three specific gaps that sit between where the BBC is and where it needs to go.

No verified connection to its own communities

The BBC broadcasts to communities. Communities watch, listen, and feel something — but the BBC has no direct, consent-based way to hear back, confirm who they are, or keep them close without handing them to a platform like Meta or YouTube.

Heyy-U gives every BBC programme, region, and division its own sovereign community handle — a direct, private, verified connection that belongs to the community, not to an algorithm.

Losing young and diaspora audiences to platforms

Under-35s and diaspora communities are the hardest to reach through traditional broadcast. They're on TikTok, WhatsApp, and Instagram — platforms that control the relationship, own the data, and can bury BBC content at any moment.

Heyy-U's Digital Flags let diaspora communities create sovereign connection points — anchored by BBC World Service trust — without going through any platform the BBC doesn't control.

Commercial revenue limits inside the licence fee boundary

The BBC licence fee model restricts how the BBC can earn commercial revenue directly. BBC Studios exists to solve this — but it needs products that communities will pay for without it feeling like the BBC is charging for the iPlayer.

Community treasuries on Heyy-U are funded by communities, not by the BBC. BBC Studios partners commercially with Heyy-U exactly as it licenses IP globally — revenue flows through the commercial arm, Ofcom stays happy.

Every BBC division.
Every use case.

Heyy-U's protocol maps to every part of the BBC. This is not a single partnership — it is a platform that grows with each new division that joins. The more handles deployed, the stronger the network effect for everyone.

The BBC World
Handle Games.

A community-powered global sports and culture tournament — anchored by the BBC, funded by community treasuries, built on Heyy-U infrastructure. Think of it as the Commonwealth Games for the digital diaspora. No budget required from the BBC. No rights to buy. Just the world's most trusted broadcaster anchoring the world's most connected community platform.

How it works — plainly

Communities on Heyy-U form sports handles — @zim-london-fc, @caribbean-uk-cricket, @southasia-athletics. They join the Games season, fund their entry through community treasury, and compete. The BBC broadcasts the highlights, announces the draws, and hosts the final moments on BBC Sport.

BBC gets a new franchise with zero infrastructure cost. Communities get global visibility and a prize pool funded entirely by their own members. Heyy-U provides the competition rails, the treasury management, and the live result feeds.

Because community treasuries fund the prize pools — not the BBC — the licence fee stays completely untouched. BBC Studios licences the Games format globally. That's where the commercial revenue flows.
